India is a basket case

We hail India as the world's newest economic miracle. They have just joined the Nuclear club (with Washington's blessing) and their companies are busy expanding outwards, gobbling up London-based companies in steel and aluminium and Whisky.

That, is the big picture. The devil though lies in the details and the details are revealing. The horror stories of Indian businesses and Indian business people dealing with the West shows huge deficiencies in efficiency, organisation and the ability to understand a culture whose language they profess to speak.

The 21st century was going to be the Indian Century. I am sorry to disappoint you guys, it looks like you may have to wait another 100 years for that to happen.

This Blog is a focus on when things go bad. By posting to it you contribute to the pressure which leads to greater inter-cultural cooperation and understanding and speeds up India's progress (I hope).

It was started precisely because I came across well documented cases of abuse. So I will get the ball rolling with what I have in hand, guarantee anonymity (even to the point of death) but insist every case you send me is verifiable and as complete in terms of dates and details as possible.
